Portland 2016

I competed in the 60m, with little time between heats and semifinals. My preoccupation was on recovering as best as possible between races, focusing on nutrition and rest. Indoor championships are a lot of fun because the stadium is smaller and it feels like the public is right on the track with you.
Fun fact:
While warming up in the hotel on the morning of my competition, I broke my big toe. It served enough of a distraction to make me forget about some issues I was having in my adductors!
In the 60m heats I ran a personal best of 6.63, qualifying for the semifinal in an event that I don’t usually specialize in. In the semifinal I equaled my personal best of 6.63, missing the final by a tenth of a second. I feel proud to have raced among some of the greatest 60m sprinters of all time.
